ROLE PURPOSE:

As the Procurement Manager, you will be accountable for creating and executing effective sourcing and supplier strategies that drive quality, innovation, and sustainability at Space42. Reporting to the Vice President of Procurement, you will play a vital role in optimizing the supply chain, leveraging AI capabilities, maximizing cost efficiency, and integrating cutting-edge procurement practices. To succeed in this role, you will lead a team and foster mutually beneficial long-term relationships with internal and external stakeholders, while meeting objectives aligned with the company's vision, mission, and values.

• Develop and implement inventive procurement frameworks that align with the company's strategic objectives in AI-powered space technology, focusing on cost savings and quality improvement.
• Conduct market analysis and identify potential suppliers with the ability to enhance our technological capabilities by delivering products and services of the very highest quality.
• Ensure the smooth integration of supplies and services by collaborating closely with internal departments to align procurement activities with project goals and timelines.
• Engage with vendors, management, and internal teams, to demonstrate 360-degree relationship management and build long-term partnerships in line with company values.
• Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and financial teams to ensure vendor alignment and support for procurement decisions.
• Oversee supplier selection and negotiation processes to secure the most ideal terms and conditions, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Lead contract negotiations to secure the ideal, mutually beneficial terms & conditions, ensuring that contracts comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate the performance and quality of suppliers and the products and services they provide, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing corrective actions when needed.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and timely delivery of materials and services.
• Manage the procurement budget by preparing cost analyses and reports to ensure financial efficiency and optimize project and resource expenditures.
• Forecast market trends and budgetary needs to support strategic procurement decisions and maintain a competitive edge.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and relevant regulations in procurement activities. Stay updated on changes in procurement regulations and adapt accordingly.
• Identify potential supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to minimize disruptions, keeping an eye on market developments and geopolitical factors that could impact procurement activities.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to procurement staff by establishing clear goals and objectives, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• A Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar industry, with a focus on procurement and vendor management.
• Strong negotiation and strategic sourcing skills.
• Experience handling broad supply chains with western technology vendors in assembly / manufacturing sector.
• Track record of managing procurement systems with extensive process automation, data analytics, and digital workflows.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) are a plus.
• Experience in aerospace or related industries.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with AI and machine learning applications in procurement processes.
• Willingness to travel as required to meet with vendors and partners.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines in technology procurement.
