ROLE PURPOSE
As Senior Manager – Talent Development at Space42, you will play a pivotal role in the Talent Engagement and Development Team within the Human Capital function at Space42. Reporting to the Vice President – Talent Engagement & Development, you will be the custodian of the company-wide talent development strategy execution – including (but not limited to) Talent onboarding, Performance accelerator & Professional career development across the company. The role also provides expert support on other talent & learning initiatives / projects across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to, and where accountable, define/maintain Talent Management/Learning & Development related policies and processes that support Space42’s overall people strategy and objectives.
  • Help management solve specific talent development challenges and leverage opportunities to implement best-in-class practices in hiring strategy and recruitment.
  • Own, maintain, and enhance the onboarding and employee induction experience.
  • Design and maintain the training material for in-house courses conducted by Space42 and related functions.
  • Provide ongoing education and guidance to managers and leadership teams about the need for a holistic view of Talent Management incorporating the three pillars of Learning, Career Development and Succession Planning.
  • Manage inputs from various sources like Performance Management, overall business strategies, larger organizational goals, as well as personal aspirations and market imperatives that influence the recruitment process.
  • Research new technologies and methodologies in workplace learning, presenting this to internal stakeholders for alignment within the Space42 context.
  • Be the custodian of the LMS system and monitor key outputs, including the ability to generate appropriate monitoring reports for training spend, course completions, etc., and present these findings to internal leadership teams.
  • Own and monitor the training effectiveness evaluation process for all Talent / L&D programs run by the GHCC teams.
  • Provide appropriate reports and analysis of learning needs to support the budgeting process for learning and career development activities.
  • Design and develop communication programs to link talent development more clearly to performance management.
  • Coach and build the capability of other stakeholders within their area of specialization.
  • Participate and/or lead relevant projects (divisional and/or pan-Space42) to implement best practices and new solutions.
  • Keep up to date with external trends and best practices in the broader realm of Human Capital.
  • Build relationships and form alliances with external counterparts, communities of practice and other stakeholders.
  • Understand and anticipate the need for change, diagnosing the underlying issues and building the case for change with stakeholders.
  • Build frameworks to plan and manage the continuous process of change, including dependencies, risks, potential scenarios and mitigation options.
  • Be an ambassador for the function and represent the Space42 Human Capital function both internally and externally.
  • Other duties within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as needed by the department or requested by management. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in HR, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Relevant certification (CIPD/SPHR) and certification in talent development (CPLP, SHRM-SCP) is a plus.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in talent development, preferably in the space-tech or technology sector.
  • Specialized design and implementation experience in the areas of talent development, learning strategy, career management, and succession planning.
  • Proven expertise in designing and implementing leadership development programs.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to measure program effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multicultural, global environment.
  • Experience in managing large-scale talent development projects.
  • Strong understanding of AI and its application in talent development.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, LMS platforms, and data analytics tools.
