ROLE PURPOSE

As the Asset & Configuration Manager at Space42, you will oversee the lifecycle management of critical assets and ensure tight and accurate configuration control across the organization. With a strong understanding of ITSM platforms (ServiceNow), you will take ownership of system configuration and potential integrations, overseeing the operational application of the ITIL process in line with industry best practices. You will enable and operationalize a robust asset and configuration management framework, encompassing all IT services and applications, and delivering the highest possible operational stability while ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.

• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of IT, hardware, and assets, ensuring optimal performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop and enforce configuration management policies to maintain system integrity and compliance with industry standards.
• Ensure that ITSM (ServiceNow) is configured to support the defined processes and procedures.
• Identify features and functionalities needing maintenance and/or development and deliver accordingly.
• Ensure the Asset and Configuration Management process is fit for purpose and aligns with organizational goals.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the process.
• Maintain an accurate CMDB (Configuration Management Database) and ensure real-time updates for asset tracking.
• Perform regular audits and risk assessments to ensure data accuracy, identify inefficiencies, and recommend improvements.
• Implement AI-driven predictive maintenance strategies to enhance asset reliability.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations (ITAR, ISO 55000, etc.) and internal governance frameworks.
• Interface with Change Management to ensure all changes to Configuration Items (CIs) are authorized and documented.
• Review and authorize changes to the Change Management structure, if relevant.
• Evaluate performance metrics against defined critical success factors (CSFs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Implement actions to correct shortcomings and streamline processes as necessary.
• Ensure appropriate security and access levels to the Asset database and CMDB.
• Minimize quality and compliance issues by maintaining accurate configuration of services and assets.
• Ensure compliance with IT service management policies and procedures.
• Maintain detailed records of all Asset and Configuration Management processes and procedures.
• Generate reports to provide insights into CMDB health and accuracy.
• Promote awareness and acceptance of the Asset and Configuration Management process.
• Direct and schedule training for new Asset and Configuration coordinators.
• Provide training and guidance to service desk, support teams and business stakeholders on asset and configuration management best practices.
• Identify trends and recurring issues to implement preventive measures.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Asset Management or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in ITIL, ISO 55000, or CMDB tools (ServiceNow, BMC Remedy).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in IT asset and configuration management or a similar role.
• Understanding of IT infrastructure, network, server, monitoring tools and general IT application operations.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) for asset lifecycle management.
• Experience with IT service management tools and software (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, ManageEngine).

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Strong technical knowledge of AI-driven asset tracking, IoT, and cloud-based configuration tools.
• Familiarity with AI/ML applications in predictive maintenance.
• Analytical mindset with expertise in data-driven decision-making.
• Ability to work in regulated environments
• PMP or Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
